Episode II of "Through Our Eyes" to commence on June 9
The second episode of "Kuwait - Through Our Eyes" will be launched on June 9th at the Auditorium of the Dasman Institute in Kuwait City.
Organized by the QCPTV, which is a British Airways Media Special Representative, the premier of the program will be held under the patronage of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, according to a QCPTV release.
Kuwait - Through Our Eyes (Part II) is a 15 minute program that covers topics such as economy & banking, technology, Sabah Al-Ahmed Sea City and female empowerment.
It is a series of high definition short documentary films that uncover the past, present and the future of Kuwait, driven through an informative narrative and wide array of local business and government speakers, it said.
The QCPTV released its first episode in August 2014 with its media partner British Airways Media, which screens the films for an entire month on British Airways long-haul routes around the world through its state of the art in-flight entertainment system, reaching over 1.2 million passengers.
The QCPTV's first episode was selected by the local government to represent Kuwait in the current EXPO 2015 MILAN and the online release has achieved astounding results with the total minutes watched through QCPTVs official channel reaching over 1.25 million to date and it now retains #1 You Tube positioning for the search word Kuwait.
The topics covered in the second episode include, among others, the economic diversification and investment challenges of the country, the construction of Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City in southern Kuwait, the opportunities of technological uptake from the Kuwaiti youth, as well as showcasing Kuwait's unique female emancipation, with Kuwait ranking first among Arab countries in the 2014 Global Gender Gap report, the release said.
Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah was quoted in the release as saying: "We are excited to see once again such great efforts to promote the State of Kuwait in such a beautiful and well composited production." "We thank QCPTV for its efforts and also the support our local community has shown towards realizing this video," he added.
With 12 program speakers in this 15 minute episode, some new exciting speakers include Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Youth Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, and Chairman of Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City Fawaz Khalid Al-Marzouq.
The film was co-funded by local sponsors and a special mention must go out to La'Alaa Al-Kuwait Real Estate Co., Saud Sahoud Al-Mutairi Co. LLC, Al-Riyada Finance & Investment Co. and Kuwait International Bank for their support and commitment to this film, according to the release.
QCPTV Executive Director Lawrence J. Ireton, who once again oversaw the project from start to finish, is very upbeat about this new episode, saying: "We've spent a long time producing our second episode as the local expectation is high and we wanted to get it right. Kuwait is a truly unique country and I personally see great opportunity and prosperity ahead for this small emirate, something I hope our films can help portray in a positive and inspiring way".
Ireton continued: "In line with our continued commitment to the country, we've taken the unprecedented decision to host a local premiere to release this film" which will take place on the 9th of June at the Auditorium of the Dasman Institute in Kuwait City, with many special guests in attendance." After the premiere, the film will be featured on British Airways in-flight entertainment screens for the entire month of August, with a special button to the programme found on the opening pages of Movies, TV Shows, Audio and Your Journey, in addition to a double page promotional article in the BA High Life magazine.
"Kuwait is a key market for British Airways in the Middle East with increasing numbers of business and leisure travelers choosing to fly with us and connect with our extensive network," said Paolo De Renzis, Area Commercial Manager for British Airways.
"We know insider knowledge is important to our customers, and offering access to this informative film created by QCPTV, which offers insights into the country's rich heritage, investment opportunities and forward thinking leadership, we are able to help them understand every aspect of a destination," he said.
Once shown on-board British Airways, the film will be handed freely to state bodies, and the Ministry of Information will be making the film available to schools, companies, foreign missions in the country and at international events abroad.
