Kuwaiti charity funds small enterprises in Sudan
Kuwaiti charity "Direct Aid" has launched a fresh humanitarian initiative in Sudan aiming at financing small-sized enterprises and extending loans to female breadwinners.

The initiative, which was announced by the charity's office in Khartoum at a launching ceremony attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador in Khartoum Talal Al-Hajri, Khartoum Minister of Social Development Amal Al-Bili and several other Sudanese officials, targets a total 1,500 families with half a million euro in the first year of the project.

"Kuwait, through its official and unofficial charities and societies, has long been interested in supporting charitable projects worldwide, including Sudan," the ambassador addressed the ceremony.

He hoped that the project would enable a large number of people to carry out productive enterprises that could offer them a decent life.
On her part, Khartoum Minister of Social Development Amal Al-Bili hailed the initiative as aiming at turning from relief to social development.

She voiced much appreciation to the State of Kuwait and its charities for their relentless support to the people of Sudan, Africa and world countries.
