By Zeyad Ibrahim

Tunisian general elections kicked off on Sunday with an estimated number of five million constituents heading to polling stations to cast their votes.

Tunisians will choose their parliamentary representatives after ending the transition period since the fall of the regime of former President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali in 2011.

About more than 10,000 representatives and 120 parties will participate in these elections.

The abroad elections were held on Oct 24 with the primary results set to be released on Oct 30, while the final results will be issued on November 24.
